Real roads.
Real drivers.
Real data.

Boros runs data-collection campaigns and test-fleet operations with sensor-equipped production vehicles — drivers, safety operators, fleet, permits and delivery — so your ADAS or automated-driving team gets validated road data without building a field operation.

01 What we do

Four things, done properly

We are not a general consultancy. Everything below exists to get clean, legal, well-documented driving data into your hands — and to keep a test fleet running while it happens.

Test vehicle with sensor rig
01 · Core

Data collection drives

Trained drivers and operators run scenario-based routes with your sensor setup in current series vehicles, day and night, in the conditions your validation plan calls for.

  • Scenario & route design
  • Driver + co-pilot teams
  • Daily QA and log handover
Boros test fleet
02 · Enabler

Fleet & vehicle operations

We keep your test fleet on the road: insurance, sensor-rig maintenance, calibration checks and full cost visibility for every vehicle — additional vehicles sourced on request.

  • Additional vehicles on request
  • Maintenance & damage handling
  • Utilisation reporting
Vehicle import and permits
03 · Enabler

Permits & data compliance

Collecting and exporting camera data across borders needs authorisations. We have obtained them in multiple countries and handle the process for you.

  • Vehicle import / export
  • Data-export authorisations
  • GDPR-aware handling
04 · Operations

Test & safety-driver operations

For automated-driving test programmes we run the whole field operation: trained safety operators in shifts, fleet and depot, daily calibration checks and the incident and disengagement reporting your permit requires.

  • Safety operators in shift rotation
  • Fleet, depot & daily calibration
  • Disengagement & incident reporting
02 How a campaign works

From brief to delivered logs

Brief

You send the scenarios, sensor set, volume and timeline. We come back with a route plan and a quote — within five working days once the open questions are answered.

Set-up

Vehicles, rigs, permits and driver team are prepared. Calibration is signed off before day one.

Drive

Daily runs with live progress tracking. Coverage gaps are flagged and re-driven, not discovered later.

Deliver

Logs are checked, labelled by scenario and handed over on your schedule — with the paperwork to match.

03 Typical programmes

Where campaigns usually start

Every programme is built on your scenario list, sensor set and timeline — the five below are simply the shapes we drive most often. Send us yours and you have a quote within five working days once the open questions are answered.

Winter campaign, Wyoming

Six to twelve weeks from January to March: snow, ice, altitude and open interstate, with manufacturer plates in place before day one. The same team runs campaigns US-wide and into Canada in any season — the Cheyenne base is there when you need it, not a condition.

  • Typical forTier-1s, OEMs, autonomous trucking
  • How we pricePer vehicle-week

Europe multi-country

Ten to twenty countries — start and finish wherever your programme needs it; permits, cross-border data export and EU-licensed drivers included, workshop and fleet in Olhão on request.

  • Typical forOEMs and tier-1s validating across European road networks and traffic rules
  • How we pricePer 10,000 km plus a permit package

Edge cases, Brazil

Megacity traffic, unpaved roads, tropical rain, motorcycles and pedestrian behaviour that European and US datasets don't contain.

  • Typical forPerception and automated-driving teams
  • How we pricePer scenario catalogue

Scenario coverage

You send the scenario list from your ODD matrix; we deliver the coverage report and re-drive every gap until it is closed.

  • Typical forAny validation programme, in any region
  • How we pricePer scenario package
Closed course · Algarve

Closed-course scenarios, Algarve

For scenarios that public roads cannot offer — or cannot offer repeatably — we book closed sessions at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve near Portimão, about an hour from the Olhão base: a 4.7 km Grand-Prix circuit with 32 layouts, a kart track with wet zones and an off-road park with water crossings. Same drivers, same rigs, same daily QA — booked per programme, no ownership overhead.

  • AEB, ACC and cut-in / cut-out scenarios with soft targets
  • Repeatable re-drives for scenario coverage; high-speed lane keeping
  • Wet-grip and aquaplaning sections; sensor soiling on the off-road park
  • Private sessions for camouflaged prototypes — drivers hold current proving-ground licences
  • Access-controlled workshops and halls on site — prototypes stay under cover between sessions

Something else?

Most programmes don't fit a template, and they don't have to. Send us the scenarios, sensor set, volume, regions and timeline, and we build the campaign around them.

Send your scenarios

Programmes with recurring needs run under a framework agreement: a yearly quota of driver-days, callable in any region with two weeks' notice. New to Boros? A two-week pilot with a sample campaign report is the usual first step.

05 People

Our drivers are where you need them — on call, worldwide.

More than ninety licensed test drivers and safety operators work for Boros today — every one of them with five or more years in ADAS programmes, and ready to start within days rather than months, wherever your programme runs. Behind them stand the project managers, technicians and mechanics who keep a campaign on schedule. Wherever a programme runs, it follows one operating standard: permits in place before the first kilometre, GDPR-compliant handling from the vehicle to the delivered log, and the same faces from kick-off to hand-over.

  • Test drivers & safety operatorsLicensed, at least five years in ADAS, trained on your handover and emergency protocol.
  • Project managersOne contact per campaign: planning, permits, daily reporting and invoicing.
  • TechniciansSensor rigs, data loggers and calibration — in the workshop and as flying doctors in the field.
  • MechanicsVehicle build-up, maintenance and damage repair at both bases.
  • Proving-ground licencesDrivers and technicians hold current licences for several proving grounds — a programme can move between public roads and test tracks without anyone re-qualifying.

Workshops at both bases

Vehicle build-up, sensor-rig installation and maintenance of the measurement fleet in Portugal and in Wyoming — so a campaign vehicle is prepared and serviced where it operates, not shipped back to the OEM.

Flying doctors

When measurement equipment fails in the field, our technicians fly to the vehicle and repair it on site. A broken rig costs a day, not a return trip across a continent — and the campaign schedule holds.

09 FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Questions we hear before a first campaign

How fast do we get a quote?

Within five working days once the open questions on scenarios, sensor set, volume and timeline are answered — as a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Whose vehicles are used?

Yours — a programme tests your sensor set on your vehicle. Boros imports, insures, maintains and calibrates them at its own workshops in Portugal and Wyoming, and operates customer prototypes with manufacturer plates where required. Additional vehicles can be sourced by Boros on request, by agreement.

Which regions can one contract cover?

The EU, the EEA and the EFTA countries, the whole USA and cross-border into Canada, and Brazil with local drivers — all under one operating standard and one contract, starting and finishing wherever your programme needs it. The bases in Olhão and Cheyenne add workshops, fleet and permits when you want them. Serbia follows in 2027.

How is customer data protected?

Every campaign runs under NDA and GDPR-compliant data handling. Boros is ISO 9001 certified; the ISO 27001 certification audit is scheduled for Q1 2027, in parallel with the ISO 9001 audit.

Who are the drivers?

More than ninety licensed test drivers and safety operators with at least five years in ADAS programmes, several of them holding current proving-ground licences, supported by project managers, technicians and mechanics.

What happens when equipment fails in the field?

Our flying doctors — the technicians who built the rig — travel to the vehicle and repair it on site, so a failure costs a day, not a return trip.

Can scenarios be driven on a closed track?

Yes. For target scenarios, repeatable manoeuvres and wet sections we book closed sessions at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve near Portimão, about an hour from the Olhão base — a 4.7 km circuit with 32 layouts, a kart track with wet zones and an off-road park. Track days are quoted with the campaign; the same drivers, rigs and daily QA apply. The circuit also has access-controlled workshops and halls, so prototypes stay under cover between sessions.
